SILO is philosophically tied to the nationwide Independent Living Movement which asserts that people with disabilities have the same rights and responsibilities, needs and desires, as their non-disabled peers. SILO MISSION STATEMENT Advocating for consumer driven services and supports that result in the removal of barriers that prevent individuals with disabilities from having the opportunity to choose options, which are self-directed and self-fulfilling. MOVING FROM MISSION TO REALITY System changes that facilitate the full integration of all people including people with disabilities within their communities. Assisting individuals to maintain control over their lives based on their choice of options that minimizes their reliance on others in making decisions and in performing everyday activities.
