Credible and professional leader with the ability to build deep meaningful relationships - also with a background in industrial relations. • Extensive industry networks particularly across SA, Qld and NT, and strong experience establishing and nurturing mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships in sectors including: • Mining, Oil and Gas Sector (JKC LNG Australia Pty Ltd, Inpex); • Defence & Construction (Industry Capability Network, NT); • Horticulture & Agriculture (SA Farmers Federation, QRAA); • Australian Public Sector (Dept. of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Dept. of Environment and Water Resources, Queensland Health); and • Industry Associations (Industry Capability Network NT, SA Farmers Federation, Horticulture and Wine Industries, and SA Employers Federation/Business SA) • His specialist skills include strategic business planning, change management, program design, governance, planning and execution, management development, coaching & mentoring and cultural change. • Among other achievements, Michael has been responsible for successfully starting up new businesses, new departments, coordinating business units, implementing wide-reaching HR initiatives, participated at senior management level, and generating growth in services, funding, and profits. • Prior to consulting, Michael was Business Adviser with Business SA and Enterprise Connect, providing comprehensive business reviews for manufacturing, transport, tourism, food & wine businesses. With a range of benchmarking and analysis tools, Michael was able to identify key issues and areas for business improvement. • Michael’s career includes senior leadership roles in Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Horticulture, Wine, and various Federal & State Government organisations and enterprises. • Michael was integral in the implementation of major industry adjustment programs, and particularly the development and implementation of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks Structural Adjustment Program, which involved the expenditure of $220m to assist fishermen and value added businesses adjust to new Government fishing requirements on the Reef.
