The Place Vanier Residence Association (PVRA) represents the 1,400 first-year undergraduate students living in Place Vanier Residence at the University of British Columbia (UBC). We are 1 of 8 Associations apart of the UBC Residence Hall Association (RHA) - Canada's largest RHA. The PVRA team consists of 15 elected members; 12 House Presidents, 1 President, Vice-President and Treasurer. Come mid-September, there are opportunities for approx. 103 first-year students to represent their House and take on a leadership role through PVRA. This year, we also selected 4 first-year students to focus specifically on sports and sustainability in residence. we also interviewed and selected 2 Sustainability Representatives and 2 Sports Representatives. These Representatives attend bi-weekly General Council Meetings and facilitate further programming in those disciplines. Through both House-Wide and Vanier-Wide programming, our Association aims to promote an inclusive and diverse community in which our residents can succeed both personally and academically.
