Sixteen builders and suppliers from Horry and Georgetown County came together in 1969 with the goal of establishing a Home Builders Association. That goal was realized on October 10, 1969 when the Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association received its charter from the National Association of Home Builders. Since its humble beginning, HGHBA has grown to 500 member firms representing all facets of the building industry. Builders, developers, remodelers, building material suppliers, subcontractors, financial institutions, real estate professionals plus many others who offer products and services for the homeowner and the industry. HGHBA is proud of its record for promoting professionalism within the industry, providing education for the building industry and the homebuyer, as well as its commitment to community service.
