PEP Intermedius Ltd is a financial intermediary made up of a payment distribution network of over 200 cash agents in Western Kenya. Our overarching goal is that we enable systematic change amongst the poor rural communities by improving access to financial services. We continuously strive to understand and address their financial needs with easy, reliable and affordable services in a secure and respectful environment. PEP has played a significant role in the success of M-PESA, Kenya's revolutionary mobile payment system with over 14 million active users. Since 2007 customers can deposit or withdraw money from their mobile phone via PEP's agency network. Within its overall network, the company presently offers direct employment to 120 people, with another 280 people working with the affiliated franchises.
