VenomAid Diagnostics is a young, impact-oriented medtech start-up developing affordable, easy-to-use, and robust diagnostics enabling best-in-class snakebite management worldwide, ultimately reducing the global burden of snakebite. Snakebite is a global problem affecting millions of people worldwide, most severely in low- and middle-income countries. The only effective treatment, specific antivenom, is scarcely available and can only be given if the perpetrating snake is known. Our solution empowers medical personnel to perform early and correct treatment of snakebites by detecting which venom, if any, is present in the blood of the patient, even before symptoms develop, thereby decreasing the risk of the patient dying or suffering permanent morbidity.
