On November 21, 1987 Meinolf Kahrig opened a music business with the company name "Musikfachhandel M. Kahrig" in the center of Brilon, Germany. The business developed continuously. In February 2000, followed by the opening of a new 1.000 m² building, there was a new step in the company's history. On this occasion, the existing company name was changed to music world. Finally we were able to present instruments appealing in a wide selection. The web shop went online in 2002. In addition to exhibitions at major music festivals and marketing campaigns in newspapers, the web shop was a contributing factor to the growing prominence of the company. Since that time music world is gaining new customers every day all over Germany and neighbouring countries. Through growing and acquiring an adjoining building, the total area could be increased again in early 2006 to now 2,500 m². Thus music world has developed over time into a modern business and is now one of the largest music stores in Germany.
