BORD is a young and successful Hungarian architectural studio whose works are listed among the determining creations of contemporary architecture in Hungary. The studio is a Budapest, Debrecen and Zurich based group of architects who work on projects with different scales and usages and offer complete solutions from the conceptual to the completion phase. In order to guarantee human-centred and sustainable design for their projects, the studio has a separate department with its own landscape architects and mechanical engineers. The office is led by six partners – Peter Bordas, Robert Benke, Tamas Tolvaj, Tamas Mezey, Kata Zih and Ildiko Pem. Taking the natural human scale into account, they create inspiring spaces with different proportions, which they organize into one unit by placing them one after the other in a unique rhythm. BORD’s buildings are characterised by exciting spatial relations, unique atmosphere and dynamic appearance. The connection to nature always has a determining role in their projects. Outside and inside spaces create a unity; nature becomes a part of the manmade world. Highlighting the existing local values, supporting human culture and preserving traditions belong to the responsibilities of architects. We know that well-composed spaces significantly contribute to developed human relationships and enhance creating a respective and cooperative society and consequently, a 'better world'.
