WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY INDUSTRIAL EXTENSION (WVUIE), housed inside Mining and Industrial Extension at West Virginia University, is focused on helping West Virginia businesses improve competitiveness in both local and global markets. WVU IE represents WV as the manufacturing extension partnership which is part of a national network that delivers consulting support nationwide and is part of the federal Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology. We provide on-site, hands-on support customized to our customer’s needs including management systems development (ISO 9001, 14001), health and safety training, industrial hygiene support, continuous improvement implementation, workforce and leadership development, strategic and business planning, and product innovation. With the vast resources provided by WVU, we strive to connect students to industry through internships and placement, faculty expertise to solve industry challenges, and industry to the University’s state of the innovation ecosystems.
