Purpose The BIA is the premier industrial advocacy organization in New Mexico that focuses on improving the business environment for its members and our region. Promise Santa Teresa represents New Mexico’s past, present and future. With long and deep roots to Mexico, the border represents our state’s rich history. Presently, the border is NM’s second largest industrial base and largest export base. As a growing manufacturing and distribution hub, the border also represents the future of New Mexico. Industry from around the world is beginning to recognize New Mexico as the gateway to the U.S. market. Location and infrastructure have made NM the new bridge between the U.S. and the Globe. Members A 501(c)6 non-profit organization, the BIA consists of more than 100 members located in or doing business in the Santa Teresa region. BIA members represent more than 4,000 jobs and over a billion dollars of private investment in southern New Mexico. Together, BIA members are the largest export base in NM and are the state’s second largest industrial base.
