She Supply

www.shesupply.org

She Supply is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that is unapologetically female. We are led by an all-women board of directors. Our name is strong, discreet, and dignified. Just like the women we serve. In 2016, our co-founders were chaperoning teenagers on a long bus trip when the conversation turned to poverty, homelessness, and how it affects women. Once home from our trip, we learned that feminine hygiene products are among the least donated items to area homeless shelters and pantries. Shocked that such basic items are rarely available to women and girls in need, we recruited some friends and vowed to make a difference within our own community. She Supply’s mission is to provide a sense of decency and cleanliness to women in less fortunate circumstances. We partner with agencies across North Texas to provide free period products and new undergarments for their female clients, lifting a funding burden which allows them to spend their valuable dollars on their other programs and services. Most women never think twice about taking care of monthly feminine needs. The products are simply added to the shopping list along with other necessities. But what if you were unable to meet those needs because you were too poor to afford them? In Texas, these basic necessities are considered “luxury” items, so they are taxed and you can not use WIC or SNAP funds to pay for them. If you believe this is not just, join us and help us to #endperiodpoverty in North Texas. WE ACCEPT: Monetary donations via PayPal on our website Feminine hygiene pads (in boxes or packages; individual pads must still be packaged) Tampons (in original boxes or packages) New bras with tags New underwear with tags Contact info@shesupply.org for more information.
