DevCongress was created to address the problem of the missing community for programmers and everyone else in the software development industry in Ghana. We kicked it off with a conference in August 2013. Since then we have organized the first e-commerce/payment hackathon in Ghana and collaborated with the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology on other hackathons. Currently, we host a Slack community of more than 1000 software developers and IT professional who stay informed and educated through the forum, and the many other in-person meetups we organise each quarter.
