The predecessor of CBMA can be traced back to North China Ceramic Institute founded in October, 1950, which was the first scientific institution in building materials field of new China. In 1999, CBMA went through the transition and became a technology enterprise; in 2004, CBMA reorganized with China National Building Material Group (CNBM); in 2006, CBMA integrated 12 research and design institutes and turned into the largest comprehensive research, development and design conglomerate in China, covering cement, concrete, wall material, glass, ceramics, refractory and new materials. Bringing together the first-class technical team including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts from “Recruitment Program of Global Experts” and other experts and scholars, CBMA became the largest, most powerful research and development center in China's building materials and inorganic non-metallic area.
