The channel was started in 1996 and has become a major international channel. BVN selects the best Dutch language television programs and broadcasts them free-to-air through satellite all over the world. It features top quality programs for young and old, 24/7, without any commercial breaks. Every day BVN brings the latest news, sports, youth programs, series, entertainment movies, drama and documentaries. The BVN website offers reception details, equipment advice, information on TV programs and an overview of hotels abroad that receive BVN. Moreover, it offers a practical online TV guide and a bi-weekly e-mail bulletin with the programming in local time. The website also provides the opportunity to catch up a program previously shown.
