JÖSz - Joghallgatók Önképző Szervezete Szakkollégium

josz.elte.hu

The Joghallgatók Önképző Szervezete (hereinafter referred to as JÖSz) is the youngest law student organization of ELTE ÁJK and PPKE JÁK. In February 2012, a group of first-year law students decided to go beyond the strict boundaries of the curriculum and to further their knowledge by helping each other through self-study. The members have identified three main pillars as the central focus of their interests: professionalism, a passion for the study of law and the cultivation of the soul, as well as education and charity, are core values of the organisation. JÖSz strives to achieve its goal of promoting the professional development of its members in the tradition of the professional college. This initially took the form of self-study courses, and then spread its wings: our organisation is now able to organise not only legal and academic self-study sessions and film clubs, but also large-scale lectures to packed houses. Within our main pillar, law, we have developed a system of courses which, in addition to the academic subjects, also offer a range of complementary subjects necessary for the acquisition of excellent legal skills. The cultural pillar is very diverse: in addition to theatre performances, concerts and visits to museums, JÖS members are regular guests at concerts, especially as the organisation cooperates with the MÜPA. In the field of charity, our activity has not waned either: in addition to toy, food and clothes collection campaigns, we have delivered donations to the Avas housing estate in Miskolc, to Transcarpathia and to children's hospitals. The members of JÖS develop their receptiveness to jurisprudence, education and charity on a community basis through self-education. In addition to our internal self-education, our aim is to enable a wide range of university students to further their knowledge.
