KWB stands for Kraft (power) and Wärme (heat) from Biomasse (biomass) and is synonymous with cutting-edge biomass heating systems. The company situated in St. Margarethen/Raab in Styria was founded by biomass pioneers August Raggam and Erwin Stubenschrott in 1994. Starting with the world’s first wood chip heating system with fully automatic heat exchanger cleaning system, innovations like the development of the under-feed combustion for wood pellet heating systems lead to the establishment of the first and largest private research and development center for biomass in Europe.
