What Cheer Writers Club (The Club) supports RI-based creatives - in our case, makers of the written, spoken and illustrated word, including: - Writers, authors & journalists - Podcasters - Cartoonists, illustrators & graphic novelists - Indie media & publishers - Editors, agents & related professionals Content creation and publishing is often a solitary and less-than-profitable profession. Yet books, podcasts, journalism, zines, cartoons and other content are critical both to our culture and to our understanding of the world's diversity, history and possibilities. The Club's goal is to offer community, coworking and workshops tailored for these content creators' unique needs. In addition, The Club shines a public spotlight on our members' publications and podcasts, as well as Rhode Island's content scene, including local bookstore and college events, and the potential of Providence to become a true Creative Capital for content creators.
