Pink Festival Group
www.thepinkfestival.co.ukCambridge Pride is organised solely by volunteers in association with The Pink Festival Group, the well-respected local LGBT+ charity, originally founded to organise the Pink Picnic event at Cherry Hinton Hall in 2003. This first event was followed by hugely successful Pink Festival events in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010, each attracting crowds of up to 10,000. As a not-for-profit organisation, all money raised for Cambridge Pride will help fund the delivery of the event, including marketing and infrastructure. Any profits are used to support future events and/or charities and organisations supporting LGBT+ people in Cambridgeshire. The Pink Festival Group is delighted to be supporting the creation of Cambridge Pride and hopes to leave a lasting legacy. As a committed group of volunteers we have many years of experience in organising events in the city, including the six Pink Festival events at Cherry Hinton Hall and hosting the cabaret tent at Cambridge Live Big Weekend for two years. We are excited to use this wealth of experience to support new volunteers in staging this huge and valuable community event. We aim for Cambridge Pride to always be a free event, and with the generous financial support of local businesses and organisations, we hope it will be an annual fixture in the city’s vibrant events calendar. The Pink Festival Group’s mission is to celebrate the diversity of our LGBT+ communities through fun, inclusive, accessible events. http://thepinkfestival.co.uk/about/
