DC Public Education Fund is an independent non-profit that advances excellence in DC Public Schools through private philanthropy. With a human capital focus, DC Ed Fund works alongside the school system’s leadership to support effective teaching and high achievement in every classroom, at every school. DCPS has made great progress in implementing education reforms since 2007, but it still remains one of the nation’s lowest-performing city school systems. DCPS’ goals are to become the highest performing urban school district in the country and to close the achievement gaps that persist along racial and socioeconomic lines.
