Rodger Motiska Design is the successor of the nationally renowned firm Design/Joe Sonderman; whose work includes the design of logos for the City of Charlotte, Charlotte Motor Speedway and the University of South Carolina, the design of custom sign systems and sales centers for celebrated resorts such as Kiawah Island, Wild Dunes and Stratton Mountain, and exhibit design for hands-on science museums such as Discovery Place, SciTrek and Denver’s Hall of Life. Following founder Joe Sonderman’s retirement in 2003, longtime associates Rodger Motiska and Tim Gilland took ownership of the firm; incorporating as DJS Design. The firm quickly established itself as a leader in the growing field of environmental graphic design. In 2009 Rodger took over leadership of the firm; capitalizing on over 35 years of leadership in the field of environmental graphic design, establishing an experiential design consultancy that focuses on design that transforms the built environment into compelling visitor experiences.
