Rationale: To develop an Islamic understanding of psychology and mental health and therapies that are more spiritual and culturally sensitive than those offered by other providers. Who does it serve? Ihsaan caters for adults (18 plus) with mild to moderate mental health problems: Anxiety, depression, psychological trauma amongst others. Currently cannot provide a service for florid psychotic conditions, drug or alcohol addictions. Therapists: Ihsaan is consortium of qualified Muslim Psychological Therapists from a variety of professions, including Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists and Counsellors. Codes of conduct: All therapists work within the HCPC, or BACP, BABCP, BPS code of practice. Copies of the codes are available on request. Supervision: All therapists attend regular clinical supervision in accordance with the ethical guidelines of their registering body. Confidentiality policy: Service is confidential, only exception to the rule is when clients pose a risk to self or others. Also we record statistical data to meet contractual obligations, but seek consent prior to sharing information with other agencies. Ihsaan complies with The Data Protection Act (1998). Fees: Ihsaan is a voluntary service under the registered charity Sharing voices, Bradford. If you wish to make a contribution to the service as an organisation or client please contact us directly. Referrals: Self refer, GP/health professionals, family, friends via letter, telephone, fax, e-mail, online via website: All referrals made to the service will be considered by the committee.
