Credit and Development Forum (CDF) is a national association of Bangladesh Microfinance, one of the largest and most vibrant Industries of the world. This Forum has already earned an eminence as an effective and useful network through relentlessly pursuing its multi-dimensional activities dedicated to creating and maintaining an enabling environment for microfinance for its fight against poverty. CDF was established in 1992 to provide 7 core services to the Bangladesh Microfinance Industry: Building capacity; Lobbying, Networking & Advocating; Undertaking research; Developing and Becoming an information hub; identifying and disseminating the industry best practices; Building resource linkages between the Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and the banks plus the apex lending agency and Facilitating exposure visits for organizations from within and outside Bangladesh. CDF has been registered as a "Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee" with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies of Bangladesh and NGO-affairs Bureau, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of Bangladesh under Foreign Donation Regulation Act. CDF’s vision is to contribute towards achieving, “Sustainable reduction of poverty in Bangladesh through development of an efficient microfinance industry. CDF has strong relationship with the sector’s key stakeholders, regulators, think-tank agencies, apex funding agency, banks, donors & others. As the oldest and the largest network, CDF maintains intimate relationship with other national networks and international networks namely Microcredit Summit Campaign, SEEP Network, BWTP, SAMN, INAFI, SPTF and fellow national networks in other countries.
