Youth Sports Alliance
www.ysaparkcity.orgThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) introduces kids to sports and inspires them to keep moving throughout their lives. Providing affordable and engaging programs to students in our community is a critical part of our mission. More than a decade ago, YSA acquired the management of the after-school, learn-to-ski program organized between the Park City School District (PCSD) Parent Teachers organizations and Park City Mountain Resort. YSA after-school programming has since grown from learn-to-ski classes, known as Get Out & Play (GO&P), offered in January only to students attending PCSD elementary schools, to a school-year-round program offering sports and healthy lifestyle classes such as alpine skiing, bouldering, ice skating, mountain biking, healthy cooking and 30 other options to 1st through 9th grade students attending 11 Summit County schools and homeschools. YSA has a proven track-record of leading a unique community collaboration that brings together 66 nonprofit and businesses, along with dozens of granting organizations, and volunteers to provide opportunities for our community’s children to grow and learn. These programs give working parents peace of mind knowing that their children are in a safe, supervised environment after school. We work with our partners to provide transportation, venues, scholarships, gear, safety equipment, instruction and often clothing. The gear and proper clothing allow low-income students to participate in our programs. Volunteers contribute more than 500 hours each year to make sure that programs run smoothly.
