Criterion has been placed in receivership. Receivers KordaMentha were called into Auckland based Criterion Group and its New Zealand and Australian subsidiaries on Tuesday 31st of January 2012. Approximately 180 staff are affected. Criterion's success was based on a design philosophy that adapted the latest trends in furniture style and functionality to specific customer needs. Criterion was specializing in creating environments in the home and office. Among its best selling ranges were home entertainment centres, computer workstations and office furniture.
