Founded in 1946, YGU has six undergraduate departments: Law, Contemporary Business, Information Management, Health and Nutrition, International Liberal Arts (iCLA), and Sports Science, with over 3,500 undergraduate students. Most departments offer courses in Japanese, except for the International College of Liberal Arts (https://www.icla.ygu.ac.jp/en/), where all courses are offered in English. In addition to the undergraduate departments, the university has two graduate units: Social Sciences Research and Law. YGU is best known for collegiate athletics performances, over 50 national and Olympic champions calling it their alma mater. With excellent results in swimming, relay, field hockey, rugby, soccer as well as various types of martial arts, and many other athletic disciplines, YGU offers excellent athletic facilities for students, as part of its campus located near Sakaori Station on the Chuo Line.
