PMI Impact Malaria
www.impactmalaria.orgPMI Impact Malaria is the flagship global service delivery project of the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI). To fight malaria and save lives across Africa and Asia, PMI Impact Malaria works with countries to support national malaria programs in their efforts to strengthen malaria diagnosis, treatment, and medicine-based prevention, particularly for young children and pregnant women. Awarded in February 2018 at about $160 million USD over five years, PMI Impact Malaria is led by Population Services International (PSI) in partnership with Jhpiego, Medical Care Development International (MCDI), and the Malaria Elimination Initiative (MEI) at UCSF. Currently, PMI Impact Malaria is working closely with 16 countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Zambia. PMI Impact Malaria's technical focus areas are diagnosis and treatment, malaria in pregnancy (MIP), and seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), while our cross-cutting focus areas include social and behavior change communication, health systems strengthening, monitoring and evaluation, operational research, and elimination.
