I have been working as a professional henna artist off and on for about 14 years now. From my first introduction to henna, I became enamored with body art in general, and particularly the art of henna. Henna provides a way for body art to be available to almost anyone. Body art doesn't have to hurt or be with you forever to be entrancing and beautiful. Being allowed to use someone's body as my canvas is an honor! My hope is that when my "canvas" looks at their finished design and sees their own grace or strength, augmented by henna. Henna has thousands of years of history behind it, and has been used in the celebrations and every-day lives of many different cultures. It is my intention to educate as I entertain, sharing the health and beauty aspects of natural henna as well as its history whenever possible. It is also my pledge to never use PPD-infused "black henna" and to educate everyone I can reach about the facts and dangers of that product. My art is a major component of who I am, and I look forward to sharing it as often as I can.
