Conflict Prevention Africa (COPEN) is a nonprofit conflict prevention organization based in Hargeisa Somaliland that empowers African capacities for peace to address conflict root causes, sustain peace and strengthen community cohesion. We put our focus on researching the agents of conflict, and develop to tools for early warning and generate conflict prevention mitigation. Information exchange is very important and COPEN contributes to information exchange on peace and security through expert analysis as well as meeting and conferences. Our Goal: Conflict Prevented, Peace sustained Our Objectives • Build awareness and anticipation, and strengthen capacity of African countries and civil society to enhance their role as principal constituencies and actors in conflict prevention and peace-building. • Increase understanding of opportunities, tools and resources related to conflict prevention and peace-building at technical and political levels
