The UWC network delivers a challenging and transformative educational experience to a diverse cross section of students, inspiring them to create a more peaceful and sustainable future. The UWCSA is tasked with selecting South African citizens to attend these prestigious United World Colleges Quick facts about United World Colleges for South African applicants: • 17 UWC Colleges in 17 different countries, and national committees in over 150 countries. • 2-year International Baccalaureate Diploma (equivalent to Matric level and internationally accepted). High school learners therefore complete their schooling at a United World College. • Students from a diverse range of backgrounds. • Fully and partially funded placements made available to South Africans every year. • Top Universities globally offer hundreds of scholarships to UWC students every year. • Application form can be downloaded from the website: www.za.uwc.org. • A UWC education reaches far beyond a student’s time at a UWC college, and our alumni share a lifelong commitment to UWC values. • Applications close on the 14th of February 2018. Eligibility Criteria: • Aged 16-18, in Grade 11 or 12 • Academically very strong (B average) • Aspire to the UWC values, including positive action for a more equitable world.
