gooWee
www.goowee.ioStarted in 2016 by Ian Strouse and Juan Portillo, gooWee is a web development shop based in Boulder County. We build web apps for small businesses and startups in need of an automated business solution, or an app on which to launch a new venture. Our favorite kind of project is the kind we build from scratch, carefully coding one component at a time until a magical machine emerges from collaborative imagination. Everything we build involves constructing a graphical user interface (GUI) on top of intricate computational machinery. In fact we named our company after this ubiquity. gooWee is a playful misspelling of GUI. Our clients are at the center of our process, and are deeply involved in the act of bringing a project to life. We build client relationships in parallel with web projects. At the end of the process, we want to be proud of both. It’s important for us to be a stable resource for our clients, and a lasting presence within our community. Our community is the bedrock of our existence and has treated us well. Therefore we feel compelled and excited to return the support. To that end, we volunteered for Longmont Startup Week to build their website, and collaboratively mentored local students in the process. We also started two tech meetups in Boulder to bring together developers of all skill levels and to foster learning for all.
