Named After an historical river in Hama-Syria, Hama is one of the oldest cities of the world. Orontes River houses the wonderful water plant (The very famous wooden water wheels which called NORIA) that were built by the Romans couple of thousand years BC in Hama. These water wheels of Hama are part of an ancient irrigation system and were used to raise water into aqueducts. They have been used to irrigate the city and surrounding valleys. They operate by rolling with the river current, scooping water from the Orontes, and depositing it in the aqueducts for distribution. Orontes Company was incorporated in October 2011 under the Qatar company registration laws as an enterprise that specializes in building materials field and particularly in the sales of MEP Products and various kinds of other materials.
