The OBHS is the organization in Canada that successfully initiated the formal celebration of February as Black History Month with the City of Toronto (1979), the Province of Ontario and the entire country (in co-operation with Jean Augustine MP) passed December 1995, effective February 1996. We are supported by the Ontario Ministry of Culture and The Ontario Trillium Foundation.
