People Right Careers leverages High Performer benchmarks created from assessment results of businesses to help high school students and young adults make better decisions when choosing colleges, majors, and future career(s) that will provide them the best opportunities for success, advancement, and fulfillment. It began as a result of going on college visits with my son, and finding a gaping hole between the information he was given and the information he needed to make these life-impacting decisions. As Founder and President of People Right Careers: • Applied my Engineering problem-solving skills to assess typical methods used by high school and college counselors, and what results these methods were producing (less than 35% of college students graduate in 4 years or less) • Compared the assessment tools that are typically used to the tools that smart busineses use to make better fob fit decisions • Created a process to help students (and their parents) make better decsisions at earlier dates, thereby incresing their odds of graduating on time and on budget Studied how students were instructed to make their decisions about college and careers • Partnered with 7 private schools counselors to integrate our decision-making methodology into their college application preparation process • Partnered with other professionals who work with high school students to create Life Launch U, a team of professionals focused on helping students make a successful transition from high school to career.
