Explorer William Landsborough was one of the first to recognise the potential wealth and diversity of opportunity within the Paroo Shire when he passed through the area in 1862. On rich plains and river flats, the region was found to have the ideal grazing lands for sheep and cattle. These industries have played a pivotal role in our history and growth through time to make the region a rural centre for today. With Councils Administration Centre based in Cunnamulla, Paroo Shire also encompasses the towns of Eulo, Yowah and Wyandra which are warm, friendly and welcoming to all that pass through. Although temperatures rise in the summer, tourism boosts the economy through the cooler months.
