Perrywood is an independent, family-owned garden centre and nursery in Essex. We are ranked 11 in the top 100 UK garden centres (Garden Centre Association January 2017) and 23 Horticulture Week top 100, ranked by turnover. The company is owned by Alan and Karin Bourne, who took the business over from Alan's parents in 1984. Since then they have transformed the centre, now running it with their three children, into a 'destination centre'. We won Greatest Garden Centre Team in October 2017 and Best Garden Centre in the Region from Garden Centre Association in July 2017. We are well known for our passion for plants, with one of the best plant areas in the country. We are regularly shortlisted in the final top ten for the Ruxley Rose Plant Area Award. We also take pride in our inspiring displays; we won Greatest Merchandising Team award in October 2017. Our coffee shop & restaurant seats 260 and serves many happy customers during the day. We have a team of more than 260, and we a proud to be a local employer with a great reputation for looking after our team. We invested in a new staff facility in 2017 and have recently carried out a happiness survey, to find out what our team would like us to do to improve. We are always looking for ways to raise standards and embrace change.
