In our Yoga Therapy classes, we teach: Form and alignment as a way to reverse chronic holding patterns and tension within the body. By using a series of strengthening, balancing and stretching postures, many structural problems are either reversed completely or greatly eased over time. Breath techniques and muscular locks, or bandhas, to strengthen the core, transform the nervous system, cleanse the lungs and energize the entire body. Mindfulness practices and mantras to establish new neural circuitry. We use goal setting exercises for mental organization and conscious trigger mechanisms for deep relaxation. This can help students overcome negative thought patterns and restore chemical balance to the brain, leading to overall well-being and improvement.
