Type IT! Touch Typing

Welcome to Type IT!, the home of touch typing for children. These days if you can’t type then you can’t do the job! Touch typing can be fun, engaging and relatively quick to learn too. We specialise in teaching children to touch type. Over the last 8 years we have taught over 1500 students how to touch type, working with children from the age of eight upwards. All our courses are dyslexic and dyspraxic friendly Touch typing frees the brain to be creative. It speeds up the process of getting your ideas and thoughts into a document. Touch typing can help children and students to complete their homework and coursework in super-quick time. An average university student can save over 300 hours of coursework time by touch typing. What will they achieve on this course? The software we use is engaging, fun and educational. By coming to a class each week and being assessed by a touch typing tutor, it will help a child to remain motivated in order to achieve their goal. If they have practised regularly, they should be able to touch type sentences using all the main letters on the keyboard by the end of the course. They should also learn the main punctuation keys. It’s a bit like riding a bike – you don’t forget once you know how! Accuracy is the most important aim of the lessons initially with speed improving as the weeks progress. Term Time Lessons - Join us at any time! Please enquire about starting lessons at any time. Every student goes at their own pace and therefore there are no set start or finish dates. We also run Intensive Holiday Courses every day for a week for up to five students. That's a crash course of 5 daily 2-hour lessons to kick start their touch typing skills!
