Jules Leleu, a scenographer of the contemporary life, certainly much more than interior designer and decorator… He was able to transcend the Decorative Art period though the most absolute artistic vocation. Between 1910 and 1973, Leleu put his name into the most beautiful decorative building sites. Then transpires the most elaborate ingenuity that has founded Maison LELEU’s excellence until today. The company took part in the transatlantic epic and left its mark on the legendary ocean liners – « Le Normandie » and « Le France » - real ambassadors of French Luxury, which ensured the continuation of this emblematic family name beyond the oceans. Jules LELEU’s three children Paule, Jean and André took an active part in writing the family history by working closely with their father to set up the firm collections. Thus, Paule Leleu has masterfully incarnated this family filiation with the textile department; accompanying with her pronounced sense of harmony, the multiple associations of colours, forms, and materials. Today, Alexia Leleu is keeping up with the family tradition by bringing back with passion the company’s inventive spirit.
