We are a 100 percent volunteer-based organization that celebrates the birthdays of more than 400 foster and underprivileged children in South Florida. We believe every life is important and worth celebrating. By showing these kids, who often feel neglected and forgotten, that we are overjoyed by their presence in this world, we are helping build their self-esteem. Every month, we lovingly organize themed birthday celebrations at two group foster homes: Children's Harbor in Pembroke Pines and His House Children's Home in Miami. Each party is complete with food, entertainment and a personalized cake and gift for every birthday child. Additionally, we honor the lives of children attending an after school program at Hope Outreach in Davie and help spread the birthday joy at Charlee, a program that provides resources and support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children and at-risk families in Miami. We do not have staff members. Kakes 4 Kids is run by people who carve out time from their busy lives to make children feel special. Our volunteers are business owners, students, professionals, stay-at-home parents, media personalities and anyone who has a talent or service they can donate.
