Artist and Producer, Shawn Harris (Dasf) began recording, mixing, and producing tracks for Miami artists in early 2020. Now in Miami Beach, he formed Dasf Music and produces original music as Dasf. Mixes groove, chill vibe, EDM, hip-hop, and soundtrack sounds to produce heavy low-tone rhythms and confident power building tempos. He grew up in the U.S. midwest, leaving when he was 17 years old by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Shawn served on Active Duty for 31 years, fought in 3 wars, earned multiple combat decorations, crossed over from Enlisted to Officer as a Gunnery Sergeant/E7 and retired from the Marines as a Lieutenant Colonel/O5. He has been an advisor to the United Nations, U.S. State Department, and other organizations around the world. He is fluent in Arabic, and holds a PhD in Behavioral Economics. Between 2004-2010 he competed as a Professional MMA Athlete for various fight promotions with a final fight record of 9W-4L. He donated all financial proceeds from his MMA fights to the Tri-County Association for the Blind. In addition to creating and producing music, he is the founder and chairman of Harris American Research Council (HARC), a Non-Profit Organization. He is an active advisor to multiple organizations focusing on the intersection of behavior and public policy. In 2020 he decided to start producing short films and formed Octafeine Media, a Miami based media production company. He is a qualified sport pilot, publishes poetry on Medium, and likes mimosas.
