www.bccls.orgThe Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization supporting 77 public libraries throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties in northern New Jersey. BCCLS is a nationally recognized library consortium known for the quality and cost effectiveness of its services. Our member libraries circulate 12 million items each year to more than 700,000 registered borrowers. The organization was formed as a cooperative and depends on the efforts of its members as well as the central staff to achieve its founding goals of high quality service and affordable cost. BCCLS supports coalition and consensus building as key steps in addressing and respecting library needs at the local, county, state and national levels for both adequate funding and appropriate legislation. The BCCLS administrative office consists of a small but dedicated and highly skilled team of professionals in a collegial environment fostering creativity and collaboration. Core functions include a shared online catalog, centralized cataloging of materials, staff training and support, library advocacy, the management of a network of over 1,400 devices across 84 locations, the administration of an integrated library system (ILS) software and other technological initiatives, and delivery services for material transport between member libraries. Our goal is to support our member libraries by providing them with tools to better serve their communities.
