CineFocus Canada is a producer of Broadcast and Digital programs that are seen around the world, are universal in concept and timeless in scope, and that translate to multiple platforms and changing technologies. Over the past thirty years we have created a successful social enterprise that allows us to make a difference in the world and we do it with people who share our enthusiasm and ideals. Through our documentaries, commissioned videos and digital media projects we contribute to improving social issues and protecting the environment while motivating people to take action for causes they believe in and by celebrating our great country and the people in it. We connect with the larger community through our documentary and new media productions, teaching and speaking engagements, and community activities. Since we started in 1991, CineFocus has been part of a dedicated movement to improve the conditions, livelihoods and involvement of people from underrepresented backgrounds – whether that’s racialized individuals, new immigrants, differently abled folks or members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many of our projects have been produced in both official languages and reflect the diversity of the people in Canada. We are deeply respectful of Indigenous teachings, having collaborated on past projects together, to bring indigenous voices and insight directly to the content we create. We work with labour unions and health equity organizations to improve people's working lives and their standard of living. All of these experiences of working closely with a broad cross-section of people, in front of the camera and behind the scenes, so that every voice in Canada is heard and experience seen.
