The EAS is a private co-educational day school founded in 2011 by the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS). The school is authorised by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education as a private school and authorised by the International Baccalaureate offering the PYP, MYP and the DP programmes. The school has grown from the original 95 students in 2012 to our current population of 750 including an Early Years Programme (ages 3 and 5 years) in addition to its 1-11 grade programme. The EAS functions in two campuses; the original facility in Yasamal district the Early Years and Primary programme while the new purpose-built facility in Badamdar is used for grades 5-11. While the vast majority of our students are Azerbaijani citizens, the school also welcomes students of other nationalities. With regard to our teaching staff, we select Azerbaijani and international teachers with strong academic qualifications, practical experiences in education, critical thinking and creative skills and previous IB experiences. The language of instruction is English. However, the students are able to study other languages such as Azerbaijani, Russian, German Spanish and self-taught languages like Chinese, Italian, French, Hungarian, and Portuguese. In addition to the academic curriculum, the EAS helps students at all levels to develop their talents in areas such as art and design, music chess, visual arts, swimming. A rich co-curricular programme in both the primary and secondary divisions gives students the chance to participate in clubs and activities such as team sports such as basketball, football and volleyball, dance, chess, debating, the student newspaper, MUN (Model United Nations), Music and Pottery.
