TRAP House is a business incubator that operates in the North End of Hartford. Our objective is to get drug dealers to recognize that the skills they learned on the street and their entrepreneurial spirit can be redirected to a formal market. TRAP House, in its original context, is a place where one can go to score or sell drugs. We have reappropriated the term. Now, TRAP stands for Transforming, Reinventing, And Prospering. Our philosophy is that, if you show people a better way, they’ll make better choices. We hope to start a tide of good choices that will transform the neighborhood and the lives of all the people who live in the North End. Together, we are combating mass incarceration, creating jobs, and returning economic power to the community.
