LIFESTEPS COUNCIL ON ALCOHOL AND DRUGS has provided substance abuse prevention, intervention, and educational services in Williamson County, Texas, since 1978. Our mission is to improve our community’s health, safety, and well-being by preventing substance use disorders, providing early intervention, and supporting long-term recovery. LifeSteps offers the following services and programs: SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION COALITION - The grassroots effort seeks to raise drug awareness, reduce youth access and advocate for polices and laws that will help reduce alcohol, tobacco, prescription medication and marijuana abuse. PREGNANT AND POSTPARTUM INTERVENTION (WEE CARE PROGRAM) - Provides parenting classes, counseling, parent/child activities, referrals and case management for pregnant and post-partum clients in Travis County. P.A.D.R.E. PROGRAM - Helps to manage specific needs and give the chance to learn from and with other parents about being a nurturing parent. ALCOHOL AND DRUG EDUCATION CLASSES - LifeSteps offers education programs designed specifically for alcohol and/or drug related charges. Classes include: alcohol awareness program for minors, DWI education, drug offender and repeat offender education. CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY ASSESSMENTS - Provided by a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to determine the most appropriate level of treatment, education and referrals. RECOVERY SUPPORT - We offered a family recovery support program.
