Deanan Gourmet Popcorn
www.deanan.comDean and Nan Alexander were born and raised on small farms in northern Kansas. One crop grown on their farms was corn. When Dean grew up and became a US Air Force fighter pilot, he had no idea corn would ever again become a corner stone in his life. He retired from the Air Force after a 25 year career, and decided that his next chapter would include a business that allowed him to work with his family. He purchased a small mall popcorn shop and went to work building a small business. Eventually, he owned 5 locations in the San Antonio area. Once he discovered fundraising, he began to re-focus the business, closing all 5 retail locations over the next 10 years. In 2005, he sold the business to the second generation, his four daughters and one son. It is still run today by his second eldest, Barbara Hodge. Now headquartered in Wylie, TX, Deanan continues to create tasty gourmet popcorn made in batches. The batches are just bigger now and some of the process has been automated. This has allowed Deanan to grow to 5 times the size it was when the second generation took over. Now, a new program is being launched. A reputation for classic flavors, quality ingredients, and fast delivery is gaining traction in the wholesale marketplace. Even our third generation is carrying on the legacy of both service and popcorn. Some have chosen a military or first-responder career, and 5 third-gens already work in the popcorn factory business. Our family recipes are incorporated into a range of packaging and pricing options to accommodate orders large and small throughout the contiguous United States. We are a WOSB Texas HUB, Dallas Kosher Certified and proud GO TEXAN member.
