An advocate. We help government and civic leaders understand the importance of cultural organizations to our city. We make the case for more support for culture from all levels of government. The Alliance publishes NYC ARTS (http://www.NYC-ARTS.org, http://www.NYCkidsARTS,.org, and NYC ARTSApps: NYC ARTS iPhone App and Widget Builder--and an online guide for the state, http://www.NYStateARTS.org. A think tank. We study the arts as an industry, measuring the importance of culture to the economy and to education.
