Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning

www.fromm.gatherlearning.com

The Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning, founded by Alfred & Hanna Fromm, stages daytime courses for eager career free students over the age of 50 to address the social isolation people experience in retirement. The program is not-for-credit, but for the joy and satisfaction of gathering and learning in tandem -- a shared experience that meets the institute’s mission to provide an engaged academic environment to an audience of active older adults taught by emeritus educators in a university setting. As the aging population increases, the program has adapted its curriculum to the needs of a more diverse population, and mirrors the University of San Francisco’s mission of equity and social justice. The Fromm Institute offers three academic sessions consisting of 15-20 courses across diverse subjects including history, music, political science and literature - recruiting over 1000 students each term. These courses allow for active participation from its attendees and provide a mentally stimulating experience for all individuals involved by encouraging Q&A discussion and conversation. Since 1976, this institution has motivated persons, age 50 and older, from all walks of life, to engage their minds in academic pursuits. We invite you to join us as you discover what our lifelong learning program is all about.
