The Matinee Opera Players is a 501c3 non-profit organization comprised of Tampa Bay talent dedicated to providing top quality opera to the public. Founded in 1994 by Artistic Director, Maestro Mario Laurenti under the name Sunstate Opera, it includes local artists of all ages whose experience range from young, aspiring students to professional, international stage performers. Regular auditions are held to seek new talent from the Tampa Bay area, who are then provided training and venues.
