The National SafeCare® Training and Research Center (NSTRC) was established in 2007 with funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and is housed within the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development, a University-Level Research Center at Georgia State University. NSTRC provides training and support for systems and agencies around the world to adopt SafeCare and deliver it to families. Our home within the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development supports our commitment to understand how to improve the lives of all children, everywhere. The center trains, helps implement, and adapt the SafeCare model to fit the needs of providers and families across the United States and internationally. Additionally, NSTRC collaborates with communities, child welfare administrators, and policy makers to increase support and resources for evidence-based practice and the prevention of maltreatment on a local, national, and international scale. Our mission is to ensure that all young children have a nurturing, safe, and healthy home environment through SafeCare training, implementation support, and research.
